Boise First Community Center

This new 65,000 square foot church facility is a two-story multi-use building. The entry is a two-story lobby with a porte cochere, which leads to a library, nursery/daycare, classrooms, choral room and a 12,000 square foot multi-use room, which is used for corporate worship, concerts, as well as a gymnasium. This room has a large flat floor, large platform and is equipped with state of the art audiovisual effects. The first level also includes administrative offices and music/choir rooms. There is a full commercial kitchen, which is used for large church social functions such as weddings, banquets, etc. The upper level houses the children and youth departments and classrooms.
The structural systems are long span open web steel roof joist and steel beam and concrete composite floor joists, which allow for large expansive areas and create a very flexible space for future program changes. The lateral resistance system is the concrete masonry unit bearing shear walls. The foundation is a conventional spread footing system and the first floor is a concrete slab on grade.
